One Days Tour Planning In Nizwa and Misfat AlAbreyeen

As we visit the famous Nizwa Souq (market), where a wide range of vendors offer their goods in the streets, you’ll find vegetables, pottery, jewellery, handicrafts, Omani sweets (Halwa), dates spices, and souvenirs, all of which are sold in authentic old market halls. One of the most interesting markets is the Friday cattle market, where locals from nearby villages sell their goats, cattle, sheep, and chickens in a circus-style open market.

Adjacent to the Souq, is Nizwa Fort, a museum today that gives stunning views of this town and its surrounding mountains. This impressive fort can be explored with its various rooms, passageways and towers providing an architectural glimpse into the ambitious undertakings of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century – designed for maximum resistance against any potential adversary. Even the corridors were designed with cunning traps to prevent intruders from breaching its defences.

From Nizwa we drive up to Misfah Al Abreyeen, this picturesque village lies on a steep slope at the foot of Jebel Shams and contains old homes and narrow streets. It has a falaj system for many orchards, date palms, and vegetables, you should walk around the village and continue your journey to Al Hamra, an ancient town.
