This morning your itinerary will begin with a pickup at 08:30 AM from your hotel, Embark on a journey to Nizwa Fort, one of Oman’s most impressive forts, with its mighty circular cannon tower. You will then make your way to the bustling traditional Souq where a variety of vendors offer their goods in old fashioned market halls from 05 AM to 12 PM each morning. It is here you can find fish, meat, vegetables, pottery, jewellery pieces and locally crafted handicrafts – souvenirs that few other places can boast! Fridays are especially interesting as local villagers come from near and far to sell their donkeys, goats, cattle, sheep and chickens at this open-air extravaganza. After taking in the Souq experience you’ll progress downhill to Birkat Al Moaz before driving up to Jabal Akhdar – also known as the Green Mountain – with its orchards and rose gardens. There’s an array of walks through the hills so take time to really appreciate the stunning valleys views. As the day draws towards a close it’ll be time to make your way back home to Muscat.
